Sponsors are extremely rare in women's cycling. Even though it is as
attractive & dynamic as men's cycling and the level of competition has
increased tremendously in previous years, public recognition and sponsor support
is lacking behind as ever. Rider salaries and prize money accounts to
about one fourtieth (1/40!) of the amount our male counterparts earn by
doing the exact same thing: ride our bikes at the world
class level through the global streets! There are very few female cyclists who can live off of their sport, maybe 10 (!) worldwide. Being a domestique
for my world champion team captains in one of the top 3 professional women's road cycling teams in the world both athletically and financially, I am still lucky if I can
finance the roof above my head and fill my belly from my rider salary. Thank Goodness we get our clothing for free, or I would have to run around naked! :p
If any of you are as inspired as I by a sport that features one of the
most dynamic entertainment and true, most selfless teamwork of any sport
at the top world class level, please do not hesitate to
contact me! Women's
cycling needs any support it can get to make it a passion possible living and dynamic entertainment possible watching. Thank you.
Personal Sponsors
None
Team (Equipe NÜRNBERGER Versicherung) Sponsors - For a
complete list, please go on my team's website!
NÜRNBERGER Versicherung - German insurance company based in Nürnberg. Our main sponsor that we are extremely thankful to for its unconditional support.
Sponsors like the NÜRNBERGER Versicherung are extremely rare in women's cycling. Special thanks goes to Oliver Strathmann! All I can say is: what a cool sponsor! :)
Salussport (Roman Gruber Ernährung) - Another very special sponsor who is based in Switzerland. Roman Gruber produces "Vitalstoffe", a mix of highly concentrated vitamins, electrolytes, and other (LEGAL!!!) vital substances to keep biochemistry in our bodies
healthy and working at top speed. Blood and urine samples are taken and tested upon which our customized mixture of vital substances are produced. I have noticed HUGE differences in my state of health. My immune system is usually very fragile but Salussport has strengthened it a lot to keep my fragile body more stable.
Fuji Bikes - Fuji provides us with our full-carbon bikeframes. The company is based in the United States.
Shimano - Our bikeparts and wheels sponsor. Every cyclist knows Shimano and probably none has not yet ridden on a bike that did not feature Shimano gearing.
Maxim - They feed us during races both with fluids and bars/gels.
Polar - world market leader in heartrate monitor production. It helps us track our training and (to a certain extent) our fitness level. Top product for top training!
W'ams & Jako - Our athletic wear sponsors on & off the bike.
Maritim Hotel - luxury rest in a luxury hotel wait for us after exhausting training & racing.
Former Sponsors & Supporters
Nike - My sponsor as a runner of 7 (!) years. The best products there are in sportswear carry a Swoosh!
Pearl Izumi - running & cycling products company based in the U.S.. I was able to enjoy its top quality products in 2006 and 2007.
Arbeit am Markt - a German HR firm. While on the track national team, this sponsor supported me financially in 2006 and 2007. Every cent counts, thank you!
Kuota - bikeframe producer based in Italy. Kuota Germany agreed to sponsor my first bikeframe even before I competed in my first cycling race!
Paul Lange & Co - German distributor of Shimano products.
University of Arkansas - Once an Arkansas Razorback, ALWAYS an Arkansas Razorback... I cannot be more thankful to the University of Arkansas and its Razorbacks athletcic department. Great university, great people, GREAT memories!!! My most special thanks go to women's track/XC head coach Lance Harter.
Boston University - My first destination as a student-athlete in the United States. BU was the first university to recruit me from Germany to run for its track and cross country teams. I had a great first year in Yankee Land!
